COURT HOUSE – The state Department of Transportation has announced the repaving of Route 9 from Route 109 in Lower Township, to Egret Road, Middle Township, will tentatively start Sept. 8.
The $6.18-million project was awarded in January to South State Inc. of Bridgeton; the lowest of three bidders, the others were Arawak Paving Co., Inc. and A.E. Stone, Inc.
Shoulder and single lane closures will be used for asphalt work. Alternating traffic will be utilized during lane closures.
Work will take place from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the next day.
The work zone will be within a single lane closure and/or shoulder closure and the location/length will vary depending on the specific location and situation for each day. Alternating traffic will be directed by flaggers.
The project includes milling and resurfacing as well as pavement alterations at curbs that are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
