Road Closures Planned for Escape the Cape Triathlon

NORTH CAPE MAY – On Sunday, June 11, 2023, the 10th Annual DeSatnick Real Estate Escape the Cape Triathlon, presented by Inspira Health, will take place at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry Terminal in Lower Township, NJ.
Between 6:30am-10:30am, all persons living along the following roads and areas, can expect road closures, detours and delays during this time.

  • Jonathan Hoffman Road
  • Seashore Road – South of the canal
  • the West Cape May Bridge
  • New England Road – South of the canal
  • Bayshore Road – South of the canal
  • Stimpson Lane
  • Shunpike Road – South of the canal
  • Lincoln Blvd.
  • Atlantic Avenue
  • Emerson Avenue
  • Beach Drive
  • Channel Apartments

Additionally, Douglas Park will also be closed. Attached is a map of the entire bike course from start to finish. If you live along this route, please use caution and have a plan to take an alternate route the morning of June 11th. For complete event information, please visit www.delmosports.com.
FOR RESIDENTS LIVING ALONG JONATHAN HOFFMAN BLVD NORTH OF THE CANAL/FERRY RD: Expect heavy bike traffic along Sandman Blvd/Route 9 from approximately 630am- 10:30am. If you need to leave your home during this time, the only way in or out will be via Shunpike Road where LTPD will assist you in exiting. The intersections at Seashore Road and Bayshore Road will be completely closed. *For any persons living along New England Rd. triathlon course:
If you have to leave your home due to extreme circumstances, please contact the LTPD at 609-886-2711 to be safely escorted off the triathlon course.

FOR RESIDENTS LIVING ALONG THE BAYFRONT: Expect heavy bike traffic in front of your home (From Lincoln Blvd. to Emerson) from 8am-10am and heavy runner traffic (from Emerson to Pinewood and Mallow to Springtime) from 8:45am-11:30am. No parking on Beach Dr. or race route, please park on adjacent side streets. Please remove any trashcans from the street.
FOR RESIDENTS LIVING SOUTH OF THE CANAL BETWEEN BAYSHORE AND SEASHORE: Expect heavy bike traffic from 7:30am-10:30am. If you need to leave your home, please contact the LTPD at 609-886-2711 for an escort.
