COURT HOUSE – South State, Inc., of Bridgeton, the contractor on Cape May County’s 2017 Maintenance Paving Contract, plans to mill and pave two portions of Goshen Road (CR615) in Middle Township Sept. 18 and 19.
Construction work hours are typically from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be localized lane closures during working hours and directional traffic will be alternated in the open lane through the use of flaggers.
The areas slated for paving are in the curves west of the culvert over Branch of Bidwell Creek and west of Steeple Court. The depth of milling of the existing asphalt surfacing varies from 2 inches to 5 inches deep. The resurfacing will match existing elevations.
Goshen Road will be open each night after construction working hours, however, motorists are cautioned that there will be times when there is no centerline striping. Temporary pavement markers will be placed to delineate the centerline. Motorists are advised to avoid the work areas, and if not, to use caution when traveling through the construction zones.
Variable message signs advising motorists of the pending paving work will be placed prior to and during the work operations.
This schedule is subject to change and is dependent upon having good weather.
This work is part of the County’s $2,180,000 construction contract awarded by the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders to South State, Inc. on May 23. The milling and paving operations are being overseen by Gibson Associates, P.A., Ocean View.
Questions may be directed to the Cape May County Public Works Department at 609-465-1035.
Dennisville – As a parent of a Tech student it would be great if the school would update their staff directory. So many old staff still listed and no new teachers listed. What gives?
