VILLAS – Starting the morning of April 23, Bayshore Road will be completely closed to traffic between Alabama Avenue and Weber Avenue. Traffic will be detoured through the surrounding streets on a predetermined, well-marked route. This will be 24-hour-a-day detour. During this period of time, the roadway will be excavated prior to paving, to a depth that will not be able to be refilled daily, according to a release.
This section of the roadway will be reopened to through traffic at the end of the day April 27, with the completion of this phase of the project.
Motorists are advised to expect traffic delays and utilize alternate routes to minimize delays. All local businesses will remain open and homeowners will be able to reach their homes with some minor detouring expected.
