Crest Best Run Fest Scheduled Oct. 12-13

WILDWOOD CREST – The Crest Best Run Fest is scheduled for Oct. 12-13, throughout the Borough of Wildwood Crest. 
According to a borough release, the event includes a series of running races that will each start and finish at Centennial Park at Fern Road and Ocean Avenue.
OCT. 12
9 a.m.: five-mile race (Crest bike path and boardwalk from Centennial Park to 15th Street in North Wildwood and back)
1 p.m.: Kids’ Race (Crest bike path from Centennial Park to Rambler Road and back)
3 p.m.: Doggie Derby (Crest bike path from Centennial Park to Lavender Road and back)
5:30 p.m.: 5K Race (Centennial Park area to Sunset Lake area and back)
OCT. 13
7:30 a.m.: 10-mile race (Centennial Park area along Ocean Avenue north to Garfield Avenue in Wildwood, onto the Wildwoods Boardwalk, south on the boardwalk to the Wildwood Crest Bike Path to Rambler Road, Rambler Road west to New Jersey Avenue, New Jersey Avenue to Bayview Drive to Jefferson Avenue, Pacific Avenue to toll bridge, return from toll bridge into nature preserve, Pacific Avenue to Jefferson Avenue, Jefferson Avenue to Seaview Avenue, Seaview Avenue to Rambler Road, Rambler Road to bike to path to finish at Centennial Park).

Members are welcome to watch the races at any point along each race route, particularly at the start and finish at Centennial Park.
TRAFFIC ALERTS:
There will be numerous detours and some street closings in the Centennial Park area from at least 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 12 and from at least 6 a.m. to noon Oct. 13.
There will also be various detours and closures of some borough streets during Saturday’s 5K race and Sunday’s 10-mile race.
The Wildwood Crest Bike Path will also be closed to the public during various portions of the races.
Parking may also be limited in the area, including on streets near Assumption Church.
Motorists are urged to take extreme caution when traveling through the borough this weekend.
