Summertime in Cape May County offers an opportunity to take a chance on a brand new car. For more years than folks can remember, St. Ann Parish has opened their booth on the Wildwood boardwalk to sell raffle tickets on a car.
The raffle, which runs from May to Oct. 19 this year, is the main fundraiser for the parish to augment its support for St. Ann Catholic Elementary School and Wildwood Catholic High School.
The booth on the boardwalk at Glenwood Avenue is manned by a team of 75 volunteers known as St. Ann Ambassadors. They are there from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. most days, depending on the weather.
This year’s prize is a four door 2008 Chevy Malibu, metallic sandstone in color with a cocoa cashmere interior.
Tickets are $2, 3 for $5, or a book of 15 for $20. In addition to the booth on the boardwalk, tickets can be purchased at the rectory, Pacific and Glenwood avenues, and at the church and high school after all weekend Masses.
