Meet amazing animals, explore interesting habitats, make new friends and have fun, fun, fun at the Wetlands Institute’s Summer Nature Classes that start in June and run through August.
The summer program is a hands-on way for youngsters of all ages to learn about the natural surroundings of the Jersey Shore with discovery, games, trips and more. Plus, register before May 1 and save on registration fees.
Kindergarteners and youngsters through 6th grade can choose classes about crabs and turtles, birds and bugs for a fun, hands-on way to learn about natural surroundings at the Jersey Shore as they explore the marsh and beach with a special focus each week.
For kindergarten youngsters, classes are Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. to noon; for grades one to six, classes are Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Wednesday the kindergarteners meet at the beach. Older kids meet on the beach Tuesday, and Thursday is field trip day.
All classes are offered for the grade level students will complete in June 2009.
Seventh, 8th and 9th graders can explore the coastal environment, meet professionals in the field of science and learn a lot by getting muddy in the Junior Naturalist Experience. Five one-week sessions Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. begin in July.
