By Press Release

STONE HARBOR — Chief Thomas J. Schutta is pleased to announce Stone Harbor police officers will begin utilizing body worn cameras on patrol. Beginning Mon., Nov. 13, 2017, officers will be equipped with WatchGuard wearable Body Cameras which function as a camera and DVR combination to collect video and audio evidence.
The Stone Harbor Police Department’s use of body worn cameras will follow the guidelines issued by the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, and the policies of the Stone Harbor Police Department.
The use of body worn cameras in conjunction with our current in-car cameras will assist officers in the collection of evidence and help document incidents in a transparent and objective manner.
