Six Saved from Surf in N. Wildwood

A 2016 North Wildwood water rescue. Wildwood Crest is looking to train its first responders in water rescue over the upcoming winter.

NORTH WILDWOOD – Six people were saved by multiple rescue agencies around 8:30 p.m. Aug. 6 near 15th Avenue in an after-dark rescue, according to a report on Shore News Today.
Two people with boogie boards attempted to rescue four swimmers in trouble off the beach, and someone called 911.
According to the report, two of the swimmers were able to swim to safety themselves and two North Wildwood police officers saved another swimmer. North Wildwood firefighters saved another, while members of the beach patrol and Wildwood emergency services brought in the remaining two swimmers. Ambulance crews were also on scene.
