Self Defense for women and girls

The Cape May County Library is offering a course for women of all ages and girls, 12 years and older, who wish to learn personal self-defense techniques. The course will be offered on Saturday, Sept. 20 10 a.m. until noon at the Main Branch, 30 Mechanic Street, Court House.
This class teaches participants to use leverage to protect themselves from street attacks and personal assaults. Each class begins with a warm-up followed by joint and balance exercises.
The course will be led by renowned instructor, Walter Miller, who has earned black belts in three martial arts: judo, jujitsu and self defense. Miller has been active in the martial arts for 30 years.
Class size is limited and registration is required along with a Cape May County library card in good standing.
There are many, varied offerings at the library.
