SEA ISLE CITY – 6-21-2006

By Rick Racela

The surf chairs, also called beach access wheelchairs, provided by the city are out of commission or badly in need of repair, making it difficult for those physically challenged to enjoy the beach.
The VFW Post 1963 recently presented two new chairs and now La Costa Lounge and Commissioner Angel Dalrymple, who has responsibility for the beach patrol, have joined in sponsoring a fundraiser, “Gala Summer Fling,” today, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the La Costa Deck Bar, located at 40th Street and Landis Avenue.
Tickets are $25 per person with an all you can eat buffet, open bar, and musical entertainment.
All proceeds will go towards purchasing additional beach access wheelchairs.
Tickets are available at the beach patrol headquarters at 44th and the Promenade and La Costa Lounge.
