Ravioli Shanker is a Classic Rock cover band, playing hits from the 70s, 80s, 90s and today. They also play every sub genre of Rock from Funk, Dance and Blues to Heavy Rock, Reggae and Progressive Rock. They frequently play everything from K C and the Sunshine Band to Black Sabbath in a single set, so bring on your requests and be prepared to be extraordinarily entertained!
This greatly talented group is comprised of Mike Fairhurst on guitar and vocals, Walt Sapsai Jr. on bass and vocals and Bobby Wilhelm playing drums and percussion. Ravioli Shanker began one night at the Old Oarhouse Irish Pub in Millville on open mic night and have been together ever since. Their most frequent requests are for Michael Jackson hits, and they deliver on every performance! Each member had their own individual favorites to play, but as a group they have the most fun playing some of the more difficult pieces, including “Abacab” by Genesis or “Rosanna” by Toto. Their role models are each other as they have an immense amount of faith in their band.
This trio sounds like a four or five piece band. According to Mike, “Most members of the audience frequently ask where they are hiding their keyboard player.” They know they’ve done a good job when the crowd is dancing and having a good time because of them. When they are not performing, you can find Ravioli Shanker discussing what they’re going to eat after each set, which usually ends up being fish tacos or fish and chips. In the band’s spare time, Mike plays in the studio, Bobby loves to work on computers and Walt collects Hot Wheels.
Ravioli Shanker won The Battle of the Bands at the Trump Plaza Beach Bar, has played at The Deck at Trump Marina Hotel Casino and at Caesars Atlantic City. They play at Cabanas in Cape May, Friday October 14th if you want to check them out and see what they are made of.
