Prosecutor, Police, School Administrators Announce Completion of Random K9 Sweep of High School

By Press Release

NORTH WILDWOOD – Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor, North Wildwood Chief of Police Matthew Gallagher and School Administrators of the Wildwood Catholic High School jointly announce the completion of a random K9 sweep of Wildwood Catholic High School for narcotics.
Following the start of the school day April 16, a pre-planned, unannounced K9 sweep operation for illegal drugs was coordinated by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, the North Wildwood Police Department and by School Officials. K9 Units from the Cape May County Sheriff’s Department, with assistance of the Salem County Sheriff’s Department, conducted the random sweep of lockers and vehicles inside and outside of the high school.
Prosecutor Taylor commended the cooperation of law enforcement agencies and the initiative of the Wildwood Catholic School Administrators in supporting drug prevention philosophies. The purpose of today’s operation was to help the administrators maintain a safe and drug-free school environment, as well as to send a strong deterrent message to its students. Law enforcement will continue to work closely with community and school officials on a regular basis to hold future operations throughout Cape May County.
