TRENTON — A state release reminded residents statewide of the upcoming voter registration deadline for the Nov. 2 general election.
The deadline to register to vote in the election is Tue., Oct. 12.
To be eligible, an individual must be a United States citizen, 18 years of age by Nov. 2, and a resident of the county for 30 days prior to the election. Residents who are serving a sentence, or are on parole or probation as a result of a conviction of an indictable offense under state or federal law, are not eligible to vote.
For in-person registration, a detailed list of statewide Commissioners of Registration, their location, as well as information on extended evening hours for Oct. 12, can be found at the Division of Elections website: www.NJElections.org.
For those wishing to register by mail, registration forms, in several languages, can be downloaded from the Division’ of Elections website. Registration forms are available by county of residence and conveniently pre-addressed for mailing. These applications may be mailed up and through Oct. 12; all applications postmarked by that date will be accepted.
