The 2013 General Election on Nov. 5 saw a 50 percent turn out in Cape May County with 33,847 ballots cast. The following are the unofficial results from the Cape May County Clerk’s website.
Governor: Chris Christie won the County with 72 percent of the votes. Christie won the state of NJ with 60 percent of the votes in his favor. Christie will be re-elected for a second term.
State Senate: Jeff Van Drew won the County with 56 percent of the votes. Van Drew won the First District with 59 percent of the votes.
General Assembly: Sam Fiocchi and Kristine Gabor tied in the County, both with 26 percent of the votes. According to NBC 40, Bob Andrzejczak won the First District with 27 percent of the votes and Sam Fiocchi came in second with 25 percent of the votes.

State Question 1: Money for Veterans Organizations The County voted “Yes,” with 82 percent of the votes. According to NBC 40, the State of NJ also voted “Yes” with 81 percent of the votes.

State Question 2: Raise Minimum Wage The County voted “Yes,” with 52 percent of the votes. According to NBC 40, the State of NJ also voted “Yes” with 61 percent of the votes.

Freeholder: Gerald Thornton and E. Marie Hayes will continue as freeholders with 51 and 49 percent of the votes respectively. They ran unopposed.
Township Committee Dennis Township: John Murphy won Dennis Township votes with 28 percent and Brian O’Connor came in second with 27 percent of the votes.
Council Ward 3 Lower Township: Erik Simonsen won Lower Township votes with 62 percent.
Township Committee Middle Township: Michael Clark won Middle Township votes with 55 percent.
Mayor of North Wildwood: Patrick Rosenello ran unopposed and will be Mayor of North Wildwood.
Council At Large North Wildwood: Edwin W Koehler ran unopposed.
Council 1st Ward North Wildwood: Margaret Bishop won North Wildwood votes with 82 percent.
Council 2nd Ward North Wildwood: Salvatore Zampirri ran unopposed.
Council Member Stone Harbor: Barry D Mastrangelo and Albert J Carusi won Stone Harbor votes with 50 and 49 percent of the votes, respectively. They ran unopposed.
Township Committee Upper Township: Hobart (Hobie) Young won Upper Township votes with 28 percent and John Coggins came in second with 25 percent of the votes.
Commissioner West Cape May: Pamela M Kaithern won West Cape May votes with 21 percent, Peter C Burke and Carole E Sabo tied for second with 20 percent of the votes.
Commissioner Wildwood Crest: Don Cabrera, Carl H Groon, and Joyce P Gould won Wildwood Crest votes, all with 33 percent. They ran unopposed.
Council Person Woodbine: Mary Helen Perez won Woodbine votes with 33 percent and Eduardo Ortiz came in second with 27 percent of the votes.
LCMR Board of Ed Cape May: Harry F (Bud) Sundstrom Jr ran unopposed.
LCMR Board of Ed Lower Township: Helen E Wallace and Gary Douglass tied for first with 26 percent of Lower Township votes and Vicki T Clark came in third with 25 percent of the votes.
Board of Education Avalon:: John Leonard Richardson won Avalon votes with 50 percent and Kimberly Schiela came in second with 49 percent of the votes. They ran unopposed.
Board of Education Cape May: Deborah L Smith won Cape May votes with 34 percent of the votes, Dawn M Austin and Edward B Connolly tied for second with 33 percent of the votes. They ran unopposed.
Board of Education 2yr Cape May: Jill M Simcox ran unopposed.
Board of Education Cape May Point : Janet M Westcott ran unopposed.
Board of Education Dennis Township: Jamie Lynn VanArtsdalen won Dennis Township votes with 34 percent. Tara Leith and Dawn M McDaniel tied for second with 23 percent of the votes.
Board of Education 1yr Dennis Township: James Manlandro Jr won Dennis Township votes with 71 percent.
Board of Education Lower Township: Charles Utsch won Lower Township votes with 27 percent. James Rochford came in second with 23 percent of the votes. Joseph E Thomas came in third with 18 percent of the votes.
Board of Education Middle Township: Burgess R Hamer won Middle Township votes with 29 percent. George L Delollis came in second with 27 percent of the votes. Calvin L Back Sr came in third with 22 percent of the votes.
Board of Education North Wildwood: David C MacDonald, Gerald F Flanagan, and Ronald Golden ran unopposed.
Board of Education Ocean City: Peter V Madden and Raymond M Clark ran unopposed.
Board of Education 1yr Ocean City: Jon D Batastini won Ocean City votes with 24 percent.
Board of Education Sea Isle City: Carolyn B Shirk ran unopposed.
Board of Education Stone Harbor: John McAllister II ran unopposed.
Board of Education Upper Township: Michele Barbieri won Upper Township with 23 percent. James B Arsenault Jr came in second with 18 percent. Kristie Brown-Chisholm came in third with 16 percent.
Board of Education West Cape May: Christopher H Wood and Robert J Cwik ran unopposed.
Board of Education 1yr West Cape May: No nomination was made.
Board of Education West Wildwood: John P Greene and James L Perloff ran unopposed.
Board of Education Wildwood: Josephine M Sharpe won Wildwood votes with 36 percent. Franklin F Carrasco came in second with 30 percent.
Board of Education Wildwood Crest: James J Johnson won Wildwood Crest votes with 38 percent. Michael D Hawthorne Sr came in second with 37 percent of the votes.
Board of Education Woodbine: Melissa Rodriguez won Woodbine votes with 26 percent. Heather L Watkins-Jones came in second with 21 percent of the votes. Adelina Feliciano came in third with 19 percent.
