United Progressive Democrats Plan Protest at Congressman’s Office

By Press Release

MAYS LANDING – The United Progressive Democrats are planning a peaceful protest Dec. 12 from 4 to 5 p.m. in front of the office of U.S. Rep. Jeff Van Drew (D-2nd), 5914 Main St., Mays Landing, urging him to vote for the impeachment of President Donald Trump.
According to a release, “After weeks of public testimony, we can all clearly see that Donald Trump used the power of his office and our taxpayer dollars to pressure the president of Ukraine to undermine his political opponent Joe Biden,” stated Elizabeth Volz. “Donald Trump has already attempted to use his power to bias the 2020 election in his favor. Regardless of what the Senate may do, the United States Constitution should compel Congressman Van Drew to vote yes for impeachment.”
The United Progressive Democrats formed Nov. 13, 2016 and have met at least twice every month since to discuss issues, communicate concerns to lawmakers and work on various get out the vote efforts.
