Yes, Really!
My kids go to Dennis Township public schools. We will see almost $300,000 in additional school aid. Almost 5% more than last year. I’m pretty happy (ecstatic!) that Governor Christie was able to balance the budget, not raise taxes, not add the extra $1 Billion in unfunded, new spending that the Trenton Democrats wanted, and still managed to send nearly $300,000 in additional aid to my childrens’ public school. And, oh by the way, that is $300,000 less that we local property tax payers have to come up with!
But don’t just take my word for it, click the link below to check out the school aid calculator put together by Senator Tom Kean and the Republican Senate caucus. Plug in your town and find out how much more your school kids get this year under a truly balanced budget that doesn’t use McGreevey-Corzine-style accounting tricks.

Leadership isn’t easy and reform isn’t painless, but we are already seeing the benefits of setting realistic goals and pursuing the right priorities. In this case, resources for teachers in the classroom and kids in school.
Have a great weekend everyone!
