Townships’ Fire District Elections Focus on Commissioners, Budgets

COURT HOUSE – Voters in the county’s four townships will cast ballots in their respective fire district elections Feb. 18. Voting will take place in the firehouses from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. A mail-in ballot is available for voters who request one.
The elections select commissioners and approve budgets for the year.    
Dennis Township 
Fire District No. 1, Ocean View, Commissioner, full term, three years, vote for one, Robert O. Clayton Jr.
Budget: $361,000
Question: Expenditure not to exceed $450,000 for purchase of a tanker-tender type fire truck. 
Fire District No. 2, Dennisville, Commissioner, full term, three years, vote for two: Clifford Lockwood, Bruce Knoll Jr.
Budget: $292,506 
Fire District No. 3, Belleplain, Commissioner, full term, vote for two: Oliver Twist III, Frank Germanio Jr.
Budget: $165,927 
Lower Township 
Fire District No. 1, Villas, Commissioner, full term, three years, vote for one, Richard Harron Jr., Richard Sambenedetto, Joseph Wareham 
Budget: $609,838 with amount to be raised by taxation of $559,838 
Fire District No. 2, Town Bank, Commissioner, full term, three years, vote for two, Raymond Scott Brown, Charles Prendergast
Budget: $1,249,500 with $989,500 to be raised by taxation. 
Fire District No. 3, Erma, Commissioner, full term, three years, vote for two, Steven Douglass, Robert Sweeten
Budget: $1,070,939 with $754,533 to be raised by taxation 
Middle Township 
Fire District No. 1, Court House, Commissioner, full-term, three years, vote for one, Michael McNulty
Budget: $1,216,283.50 
Fire District No. 2, Rio Grande, Commissioners, full-term, three years, vote for two, Robert W. Zimmerman, Conrad Johnson Jr.
Budget: $596,800 
Fire District No. 3, Green Creek, Commissioner, full-term, three years, vote for one, David A. Zeiss
Budget: $485,446 with the amount to be raised by taxation of $485,446.
Question: Shall commissioners be authorized to expend not to exceed $625,000 for the purchase of a firetruck? 
Fire District No. 4, Goshen, Commissioner, full-term, three years, vote for one, Cynthia G. Gorman
Budget: $187,343 
Upper Township 
Fire District No. 1, Strathmere, Commissioner, re-election, vote for one, full-term, three years, Randall Roash
Budget: $84,834 
Fire District No. 2, Tuckahoe, Commissioner, vote for one, full-term, three years, James Tarby
Budget: $498,300
Question: A capital appropriation for general expenditures over the next five budget years, the amount to be raised $25,000 annually, totaling $125,000 for five years for use by the fire company. 
Fire District No. 3, Marmora, Commissioner, vote for two, full-term, three years, R.A. DiNicolantonio, Scott Douglas Snyder
Budget: $562,608 
Fire District No. 4, Seaville, Commissioner, vote for one, full-term, three years, Don Fancher, Justin Mason
Budget: $552,170 with $542,895 to be raised by taxation.
