LOWER TOWNSHIP – The campaign of Republican Mayoral candidate Erik Simonsen and Deputy Mayoral candidate Frank Sippel built momentum over the last several weeks as their supporters filled the local VFW to capacity. Then, more than a dozen volunteers joined Simonsen and Sippel to hit the streets in several Township districts.
“The message we are sharing with our residents is straightforward, and it is resonating with residents – I want to continue the progress we made for our community. Over the past year, Tom, Dave and I worked hard to prioritize issues and complete projects that our residents shared with us as being important to move Lower Township in the right direction. We put more police officers on the streets, added a code enforcement official, fixed infrastructure issues like the drainage problem in North Cape May that existed for decades, entered a shared services agreement with the County that will save Lower Township millions of dollars, entered a shared services agreement with the MUA that brought in revenue to the Township for services provided to the MUA, and improved recreational facilities and programs. We accomplished all of this and still maintained a zero percent tax increase for our residents. With the addition of Frank Sippel to Council, we would add tested leadership from a guy who has a distinguished career of getting things done for our country,” said Simonsen.
Sippel added, “It is an honor to have Councilmen Tom Conrad and Dave Perry lend their leadership to the Simonsen & Sippel campaign, and the support of Freeholder Kristine Gabor and the rest of our team as we canvassed neighborhoods and have already talked with hundreds of residents. It is abundantly clear that our residents want town hall to continue the progress that was accomplished this past year. They want leadership that is positive and has a focus and drive to improve our Township within the means of our residents. I am really excited to continue speaking with as many residents as possible. I invite our residents to contact me so that I can share my background, experiences and the goals I have for our Township.”
