Second District Congressional Candidates to Attend Sept. 30 Forum

By Herald Staff

VINELAND — Voters in the Second Congressional District will have the opportunity to attend a multi-party forum at the Chestnut Assembly of God on Tuesday, Sept. 30 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The forum, hosted by the “God & Country Political Awareness Group,” will be attended by candidates David Kurkowski (D), James Grover (Green Party), Constantino Rozzo (Socialist Party), independent Gary Stein (Rock the Boat), and Peter Boyce (Constitution Party).
Rep. Frank LoBiondo-R will attend due to the Congressional bailout vote completed in Washington on Monday.
Ed Gracely of the League of Women Voters in Camden County will be the moderator.
Each candidate will be given the opportunity to make a brief opening statement. Four questions will be asked by the South Jersey Political Awareness Forum panel for each candidate to answer.
The panelists include: Dan Amato (Americans for Legal Immigration PAC), Sue Smith (Executive Director Cornerstone Women’s Resource Centers), and Aven Warren (Woodruff Energy).
At the conclusion, each candidate will have the opportunity to give a closing statement. Additional time may be given to answer the questions based upon the number of candidates in attendance.
“In an effort to educate people and encourage them to participate in the electoral process, we are hosting a candidates’ forum. We believe that candidates on the ballot, in this case for the position as our Representative in Congress, have the freedom of speech. Likewise, ‘We the People’ of the Second District have the freedom to assemble and hear so that we can exercise the freedom to make an informed decision on Nov. 4,” stated forum chairman Elaine Ball in a release.
The debate can be heard live on radio station LIFT FM (98.5 FM Bridgeton or 97.9 FM Cape May/Wildwood) or can be attended in person at Chestnut Assembly of God, 2554 E. Chestnut Ave., Vineland.
