Restaurant Owner Challenges Incumbent Democrat

By Joe Hart

NORTH WILDWOOD — A local businessman is running as a Republican candidate in this city’s 2nd Ward Council race.
Salvatore Zampirri, of 15th Avenue, told the Herald that, if elected, he plans to listen to the people of North Wildwood.
“I see a growing disconnect with the people and the politicians who represent them, I plan to bridge the gap between the two,” he said. “I plan to make myself available to the people to listen to their concerns and options. I think elected officials sometimes forget how they got there.”
He plans to keep a close eye on the city’s upcoming revaluation to “make sure our taxes stay stable.”
“We can not forget that North Wildwood is a working class town,” he said.
He said the city needs to explore shared services for its Public Works department.
“I plan to keep North Wildwood moving in the right direction and feel confident in my ability to work with others to get the job done right,” he said.
Zampirri has lived in North Wildwood since 1994. He and his wife Via have two children who attend Margaret Mace Elementary School.
The family operates the Hot Spot 4 restaurant on the boardwalk in Wildwood. Zampirri also works as a real estate agent for Blue Ocean Realty in Wildwood.
Zampirri is an elected representative of the Wildwood Boardwalk Special Improvement District and also sits on the North Wildwood Urban Enterprise Zone board. He also coaches Little League and serves on its board.
Zampirri attended Frankford High School in Philadelphia.
