WHITESBORO – The newly formed Middle Township Republican Club wasted no time getting involved in supporting the community. On Thursday, August 4th, Club President Mark Collins and Secretary Jim Norris presented a sponsorship check for $500.00 to Camp Unity Director Robert Matthews.
Camp Unity, in its fifth year, brings student-athletes from North Carolina to a two day event based at the Martin Luther King Center in Whitesboro. The students camp out in the gym, compete in a basketball tournament with local teams and also visit area colleges.
“The Middle Township Republican Club is proud to be involved in this great event.” Collins said. “It’s not just about basketball, these dedicated volunteers are helping these athletes see the big picture. The goal is to point these young men towards college and long term success.”
“A big part of our mission is to support events like this that showcase the best that Middle Township has to offer.” Norris said. “We encourage all Republicans in Middle Township to join the club. Together we can make a positive difference in our community.”
