Police, Firefighters Endorse Albano for Assembly

Cape May Court House — New Jersey’s first responders have given Assemblymen Nelson Albano their vote of support by endorsing him as the best candidate for Assembly on November 5.
Albano registered a clean sweep of endorsements, winning the support of the state’s Police Benevolent Association (PBA), Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), Professional Firefighters Association (PFA), the Firemans’ Mutual Benevolent Association (FMBA) and PBA Local 105, which represents the state’s corrections and parole officers.
“It is an honor to know that our uniformed first responders stand behind me and my record of service,” said Albano. “Our police and fire professionals put their lives in danger for us every single day, and I have worked hard to ensure they have the tools to keep our communities and our families safe. I thank them for their support, but more importantly I thank them for their selfless service.”
Albano currently serves as a member of the Assembly Law and Public Safety Committee, where he has worked with police and fire personnel across the state on laws to make communities safer, ensured that public safety is properly funded and supported, and championed tougher laws against drunk driving. Earlier, Albano was endorsed by a former State Police commander, Bob Watkins.
“After three decades with the New Jersey State Police, I can honestly say that the legislation that Nelson Albano passed has saved lives,” said Watkins, who worked units in Bridgeton, Buena, and Woodbine throughout his career. “His agenda from the time he’s been an Assemblyman [has been] to make a difference, to make some changes, and they’ve all been positive.”
