COURT HOUSE – Republican Township Committee candidate Tim Donohue praised bipartisan pension and benefit reform for solidifying the second prong of his 3-2-1 Countdown to Zero Tax Increase Budget plan.
“Two months ago we launched our plan to ensure that the Middle Township taxpayers won’t face a tax increase next year,” said Tim Donohue. “In that plan we estimated saving for the Township at $75,000. Today Governor Christie announced that the savings for Middle Township will in fact amount to over $300,000. This confirms our approach and ensures that, if we have the courage to do so, we can construct a budget for 2012 that will not increase taxes on Middle Township homeowners.
Donohue continued, “I am reaffirming my pledge to the people of Middle Township, that, when elected, I will insist that all of these savings be used for property tax relief and not for new spending.”
