COURT HOUSE — Nearly 300 attended the first of two candidates’ forums Oct. 22 hosted by the Cape May County League of Women Voters at Middle Township Performing Arts Center, 1 Penkethman Way.
First District Senatorial candidates, incumbent Republican Nicholas Asselta, and Democrat Jeff Van Drew sparred over points in state government, allowing voters to get a glimpse of their lines of thinking on similar issues.
Immediately following. Assembly candidates, Democratic incumbent Nelson Albano and Matthew Milam and Republicans Michael Donohue and R. Norris Clark answered quesstions..
No questions were accepted from the public at this debate. They were previously submitted to the league.
Next Monday, Oct. 29, a similar debate between freeholder candidates will be held in the Historic County Courthouse, North Main Street, Court House. Time for that is also 7 p.m.
The difference being, at that debate, questions will be accepted from those in attendance, as well as being submitted to the leqgue in advance via e-mail.
