By Press Release

WOODSTOWN – James Keenan, an Independent, recently announced his candidacy for the Second Congressional District’s seat in the House of Representatives. The district consists eight counties and 92 municipalities, with all Cape May, Atlantic, Cumberland and Salem counties and parts of Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Ocean counties.
Keenan, 30, of Woodstown, moved to Southern New Jersey in 2011. He is a production supervisor for the American Airlines Ground Support Equipment Department at Philadelphia International Airport.
He has held various jobs from his first as a dishwasher through high school and began working as an automotive mechanic the week after graduation, holding a part-time job at a garage while attending classes at Universal Technical Institute in Exton, Pa., in the evenings.
Keenan graduated from UTI in 2006 with several certifications from Ford and continued to work as a Ford dealership mechanic, and eventually as a GSE Mechanic for U.S. Airways in 2007.
Keenan was promoted to his current position in 2012. In that position, he works with a diverse team of fellow supervisors to manage a 24-hour operation employing over 60 union mechanics and maintaining over 2,000 pieces of equipment.
According to his website, he possesses the ability to lead projects, communicate clearly and reasonably with co-workers and employees, and approach issues with fair, reasonable objectivity, has been an important contribution to his team’s success that he feels are important qualities for a member of the House of Representatives.
Keenan knows what it is like to work extended hours for a low wage, to live paycheck to paycheck, and to struggle with debt. He’s experienced some of the hardships that the citizens of the district face on a daily basis, experiences that he feels career politicians either don’t have or from which they have become disconnected.
Keenan “has become increasingly frustrated by corporate control over America’s politics and partisan gridlock. As an Independent, he will not be bound by party politics, and will not be bought by lobbyists or special interests.”
