Kaithern, Burke & Sabo Running in Upcoming West Cape May Election

By Press Release

WEST CAPE MAY — Mayor Pam Kaithern, Deputy Mayor Peter Burke and Commissioner Carol Sabo will seek reelection in the Nov. 5, 2013 election for the West Cape May Board of Commissioners.
“We will run as a team on a platform including continued efficient Borough operations which contributed to the recent unprecedented reduction in property taxes for owners in West Cape May. Taxpayers enjoyed one of the few reductions among New Jersey municipalities,” said Sabo.
“We operate efficiently and utilize new revenues to offset taxes and not add unnecessary expenses,” said Kaithern. “As one of the few communities in the state to reduce taxes, we are proud of our efforts and will strive for continued efficiency,” continued Kaithern.
“Listening to our residents is key to our governing process and to the community we serve. We are mindful of maintaining the wonderful small town quality of West Cape May that many love and want to hold on to,” said Burke. “We are strong advocates for sustainable community and business growth,” continued Burke.
“Supporting the local business community, including new businesses choosing to locate in West Cape May and expansion of existing businesses, helps build community and off set taxes for residents,” added Kaithern.
“We will maintain our path for sustainable expansion of open space and agricultural practices in the Borough. Continued environmental stewardship will help reduce overall energy consumption too,” said Sabo.
“It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost ten years since we received a grant to develop the Back Yard Park, home to the Farmers’ Market. It’s helped our Market to become one of the most successful in the State and served as a launch pad for numerous local businesses. At no cost to the tax payers, proceeds from the Farm Market, Tomato and Lima Bean Festivals in Wilbraham Park fund maintenance and expansion programs for our parks and open spaces and programs which enrich life in our community. Continued quality of life and enhancing our community is what we are about,” added Kaithern.
“We, as a team, are looking forward to upcoming forums to discuss goals and ideas from residents of West Cape May. We all have a stake in our future and future generations who want to make West Cape May their home,” added Burke.
