GOP Chairman: Cape May GOP Supports Tea Party Patriots

By Herald Staff

CAPE MAY — As taxpayers in New Jersey and across the country gather this Tax Day (April 15) to protest
out-of-control government, Cape May County Regular Republican Chairman David Von
Savage issued the following statement:
“We all owe a debt of gratitude to the Tea Party patriots marching on county
seats and state capitals today. Despite the Obama White House’s alarming
attempts to portray these citizens in a negative light, we know that they are
really law abiding, God-fearing, middle class American taxpayers dedicated to
saving their country. They’ve taken time out of their lives, and money out of
their pockets, to stand up for common sense American values in the tradition of
our Founding Fathers. Tea Partiers deserve our support, and they can always
count on the support of Cape May County Republicans.”
“Right here at home in New Jersey, Governor Christie is following through with
his campaign promises to shake up state government and rein in out-of-control
spending. He’s also called on local officials to tighten their belts, and Cape
May Republican leaders have enthusiastically answered the challenge. Cape May County
Republicans were Red and Rogue before it was cool to be Red and Rogue.
We will continue to fight for pro-taxpayer reforms as we have always done
here at the Shore, and we salute Governor Christie’s efforts to bring the same
common sense change to Trenton.”
