County GOP Endorses Donohue, Conrad for Assembly

By Herald Staff

COURT HOUSE — Cape May County Republicans March 4 endorsed the Assembly ticket of Michael John Donohue and Frank Conrad. Mike Donohue, of Dennis Township, won Cape May County in the 2007 Assembly election. Conrad, a two- term member of the Upper Township governing body, is making his first run for state office.
According to a release, Vineland businessman Sam Fiocchi, the third Republican participating in the nominating process, will also endorse Donohue and Conrad today and will serve as the Chairman of the campaign in Cumberland County.
“The quest to take back the First District and restore fiscal sanity to state government starts right here, today, in Cape May County,” Donohue said in a relase. “I’m excited to be running with Frank Conrad and to have Sam Fiocchi as our campaign Chairman in Cumberland County. We are all experienced small businessmen raising children in South Jersey who know the incredible, negative forces that flow out of Trenton.”
“We are all united behind the Donohue-Conrad ticket,” says Fiocchi. “I got involved because I believe Cumberland County is critical for our success this year. Mike and Frank understand that too. I intend to do everything I can to help them win in Vineland, Millville and Maurice RiverTownship.”
“Together, Frank Conrad and I will fight to return New Jersey to the conservative principles that made this country great: Small government, low taxes and personal economic initiative,” Donohue says. “We will fight to end the Council On Affordable Housing and the DEP as we know them and replace them with rational, job-friendly agencies. The people of New Jersey have had it with Jon Corzine and his friends in Trenton and are demanding change. Well, change is coming.”
“The problem with New Jersey is not a lack of tax revenue,” Conrad says. “The problem is a lack of leadership. We must elect people who are willing to make the difficult decisions to restore New Jersey’s economy so that we may create a bright future for ourselves and our children. I am looking forward to running with Mike Donohue and to joining the fight to take back South Jersey.”
“ Make no mistake, this will be the hardest working ticket to hit the streets of the First District. Our citizens are clamoring for change,” Conrad says. “They are tired of the same old broken promises from Jon Corzine and his do-nothing Legislators. The movement for change is building and we will lead the charge. ”
