STONE HARBOR — Albert J. Carusi, Republican, is making his initial run for a seat on council.
A veteran, he is commander of American Legion Post 331, and is a graduate of Seton Hall University and Wildwood Catholic High School.
He was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army.
Carusi worked in operations and engineering management with RCA, GE and Lockheed Martin.
Carusi received the Jack Fitzpatrick Humanitarian Award from the Stone Harbor Chamber of Commerce.
He has “demonstrated leadership in military, business and civic affairs.”
Carusi believes in “tight fiscal control of the budget.”
He cited his community service record that includes being a member of the congregation of St Paul’s Church and Stone Harbor Planning Board.
He supports the Chamber of Commerce and its merchant members in their efforts to revitalize the shopping district.
One of his attributes, he stated, is his “ability to bring people together and resolve conflicts.”
He is open to the exploration of “reasonable, profitable opportunities in shared resources.”
If elected, he would work toward “continued improvement of the beach and bay, and would seek to bring closure to the library proposal.
In addition, he would seek participation and support of residents and second homeowners in attaining community goals.
