WILDWOOD — Not only did their parents go to the polls to cast their votes, students at Glenwood Avenue Elementary School hosted their own presidential election.
Organized by members of the school’s Student Council, under the guidance of teacher Michael Menszak, students in grades 1 – 5 had their say in who will lead the country by casting a vote for either Democrat Barack Obama or Republican Mitt Romney.
Students visited a hallway polling center, complete with a voting booth to cast their ballot.
Unlike the virtual dead heat called between the two candidates by pollsters, when the votes were tallied, Obama won with a resounding 84 percent of the votes to Romney’s 16 percent.
