Police Seeking Identity of Body Found in Waters Off Sea Isle City

SEA ISLE CITY – Detectives from the New Jersey State Police Major Crime Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an unknown male recovered from the Atlantic Ocean. The body was recovered approximately one mile off shore in the area of Townsends Inlet.
At 7:51 a.m., a Captain of a marine vessel traveling from the Bahamas to Connecticut advised that he had seen the body of a human being floating in the water in that area. The United States Coast Guard and New Jersey State Police Marine Services Bureau responded to the location and retrieved the body from the water.
The victim is identified as an Asian male, approximately 50 to 65 years old, of slight build, wearing black dress pants, a gray thermal, long sleeve shirt under a blue button down shirt. The man had artificial dental prosthesis on his lower bite and no teeth on is upper bite. He had no identification on his person. Investigators believe the man may have been swept away in the outgoing tide this morning or yesterday evening.
