The family and friends of Steven ‘Stu’ Scholz and Jonathan Bell are hosting the third annual Pizza, Pins, and Coke fund-raiser for The Friends for Eternity Wild-wood High Scholarship fund (formerly Steven Scholz Scholarship Fund) on Sunday, Sept 7 at 3J’s Wildwood Bowl, Schellenger and New Jersey aves. at 3 p.m.
Tickets ($10) include lane, shoes, pizza, and soda.
This scholarship benefits graduating seniors at Wildwood High. We have been fortunate enough to give out $6,000 in scholarships so far.
Previous recipients include Christina Harshaw, Anna Kantzios, Brenda Matos, Ryan Hall, Taylor McAlaren, and Mary Gilien.
By changing the name to “Friends for Eternity,” we are adding the memory of Jonathan Bell, a resident of Wildwood Crest who died suddenly in February at the age of 24. He was our son Steven’s best friend.
They met in pre-first at Crest Memo-rial School and became best friends. Both graduated from Wildwood High and attended The Richard Stockton College of NJ together.
Steven died in July of 2005 as a result of a single car accident at EXIT 0 of the Garden State Parkway.
Jon went on to graduate from Stockton College. He was very suppor-tive to our family during our tragedy, and we miss him so much.
Our Son, Steven was an organ donor, and the event is themed around organ donation awareness through the Gift of Life Program.
This year we will have the Threads of Love Memorial Quilt on display at the event. Steven’s quilt square will be on the quilt—the 10th quilt completed as a result of donor families.
It will be brought to the bowling alley by Brock Barber, the recipient of Ste-ven’s liver.
Please join us as we celebrate the lives of Steven and Jon. For tickets, or to make a donation to the scholarship, or to donate a prize, call Mark or Kathy Scholz at 609-522-4000.
