PLEASANTVILLE – Literacy Volunteers is now accepting registration for their upcoming spring Adult Literacy Tutor Training Workshop to be held at Shore Memorial Hospital’s Conference Center on West New York Avenue in Somers Point.
Orientation will be on March 2, 7-8:30 p.m. and the workshop (a total of 15 hours) will be the following five Thursday nights (March 9, 16, 23, 30 and April 6), 6:30-9:30 p.m., also at Shore Memorial Hospital’s Conference Center.

FRIENDS – The third annual “Friend In Need” Super Bowl Benefit was held Feb. 5 at the Whitebrier/Motor Boat Club. $25,000 was raised to help local “Friends in Need.” This year’s three recipients are locals of the Seven Mile Island community who have experienced financial hardships due to illness.
