People helping People 1/18/2006

By Rick Racela

CAPE MAY – The Legal Secretaries of Cape May County held their Christmas Party Dec. 15 at the Pelican Club. Members brought gifts purchased for St. Nick’s Mission and CARA. Over 40 children received gifts.
– St. Nick’s Mission, collected more than 900 gifts that were distributed to county residents over the holiday season. United Way First Call for Help, which operates St. Nick’s, collected hundreds of nonperishable food items that helped the agency’s food pantry remain stocked and open over the holidays.
Contributions to the food pantry are always needed and always appreciated. To arrange drop off for food donations for the First Call for Help Food Pantry or to organize a food drive, call United Way of Cape May County at 729-2002 or email uwcmc@comcast.net.
COURT HOUSE – The Cape May County Healthy Mothers/Healthy Babies Coalition will meet Feb. 2 at noon at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital.
