OCEAN CITY — During the week of Sunday, Nov. 9 to Saturday, Nov.15, 2008, members of Ocean City Police Department responded to 818 calls for service, or an average 117 per day.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCMENTS:
• The Ocean City Police Department is now actively running Aggressive Driving Patrols daily. This information is being broadcast on local radio stations about areas in the city that are targeted for enforcement. Please be advised that this is a zero tolerance program. Areas of concern include; pedestrian safety and crosswalks, cell phones, seat belts, speeding and road rage incidents. This is being done since schools are now reopened and to increase traffic safety awareness throughout the city.
• The Police Department is taking an active roll in policing the areas around the Schools during the drop off and pick up times. Parents are reminded that they are not allowed to double park, all crosswalks should be used and no drop offs are allowed along Bay Ave., in front of the Intermediate School.
• Just a reminder that All-Way Stop Signs are being installed throughout the city on Central Avenue and Simpson Avenue. Please take extra precautions when approaching intersections.
• The Ocean City Police Department participated in the Veterans Day Ceremony at Memorial Field on November 11, 2008.
