Ocean City kicks off second season

By On Deck Staff

Ocean City is gearing up for its “Second Season,” the very best time to experience “America’s Greatest Family Resort.”
With year-round shopping downtown and on the boardwalk, a variety of restaurants and family-friendly special events, hundreds of thousands of visitors have discovered that what used to be known as the “off season” has become the very best time to explore the shore in Ocean City.
The “Second Season” includes a wide array of special events. Many have been held in Ocean City for decades, while some new and exciting events have been added. With Street Rods, Marching Bands, the largest Corvette Show in the region, the annual Indian Summer Block Party, two weeks of Halloween fun, and Arts and Crafts Shows. And the events continue right up to First Night and First Day at the Beach–our annual New Year’s celebration.
A brand new Aerobatic Air Show over the ocean is planned for Sunday, Sept. 14 from 1-3 p.m. Watch from any location on the boardwalk as today’s top daredevils of the sky perform heart-pounding airplane aerobatics.
The weather is perfect for long walks on the beach, bike rides on the boardwalk and the new Haven Avenue Bikeway, along with shopping in our vibrant downtown with over 100 unique shops, galleries and restaurants.
