Middle Township Police Warn Against Possible Door Hanger Scam

By Press Release

COURT HOUSE – The door hanger pictured above, was left on a residence in Middle Township Feb. 7. The pamphlet states that it is from Bank Of America, and the recipient is requested to call a phone number. When you call the number provided, it states they are Bank Of America and they are a bill collector. You are then asked to enter your social security number, or account number. A spokesperson from Bank Of America confirmed this solicitation is not from Bank Of America.
The Middle Township Police Department would like to remind our residents to never divulge their personal information, unless they are absolutely certain they know who they are talking to.
What is unusual about this door hanger is someone came onto the property and posted it on the door. If anyone observes anything suspicious in their neighborhood, don’t hesitate to contact the Middle Township Police Department at 465-8700.
