Children and adults alike will enjoy a presentation of stuffed dolls depicting characters from children’s favorite story tales.
Each character is numbered but not identified.
Viewers can enjoy guessing the identity of each doll.
Available is an answer key that connects the character’s number, and the character’s name.
My ten year old daughter and I consider ourselves well-read when it comes to children’s literature, but even we were stumped on a few. It’s a great display. Try it!
If you are really into it, you may even purchase postage stamps from USPS with many of the same children’s lit characters.

Cape May County Veterans’ Bureau is sponsoring the 22nd Valentine’s Day trip to the Wilmington V.A. Hospital and New Jersey Veterans’ Memorial Home on today.
Veteran’s organizations and their auxiliaries collected donations from businesses throughout the county to present to hospitalized veterans. 
Cape May County Fare Free Transportation is providing the transportation to either the Wilmington V.A. Hospital or the New Jersey Veterans’ Memorial Home located in Vineland.
Buses departed at 8:15 a.m. this morning from the Social Services Building in Rio Grande. 
Freeholder Thornton said, “The highlight of this annual trip is to spend time with our hospitalized veterans who have given so much to preserve our freedom, present them with small gifts complete with a Valentine’s Day card handmade by Cape May County school children.”

Elementary No. 2 will be doing their part to bring attention to heart disease.
They will have their annual American Heart Association Jump Rope for Heart event on March 3 from 6-9 p.m.
Money collection envelope will be due that evening.

MTHS recently introduced a new program to staff to reward students for their outstanding achievements and behavior.
The Panther Points Program will allow students to win prizes throughout the school year.
Students may receive points for perfect quarterly attendance, distinguished honor roll, honor roll, and student of the month.
The final opportunity to earn points is the Panther Wild Card.
The staff will be able to reward students for extra-ordinary efforts academically and socially in the classroom.
Possible prizes include: designated dress down day, a free lunch item, or athletic tickets.
Prizes will be awarded throughout the school year for students who reach the required point level.

Jonathan Schad was also recently chosen as a Peer Leader for the seventh grade.

Marsh Music brings the best in live, eclectic music by some of America’s top musicians to the Wetlands Institute.
Laura Cortese performs on Friday with a driving fiddle, vocals, and step dance that feature an original blend of Celtic music and contemporary influence.
All shows begin at 8 p.m. and consist of two 45-minute sets with intermission.
Tickets are $8 members, $10 non-members and are available in advance or at the door.

Join Barbara Solem-Stull, author of “Ghost Towns and Other Quirky Places in the New Jersey Pine Barrens,” when she talks about the towns that rose up and vanished around the glass factories, paper mills and cranberry bogs of the Pinelands at a covered dish dinner at the Wetlands Institute on Feb. 24, 6 p.m.

MTHS will present “Godspell” at the PAC on March 4 and 5.
Leads in the cast are Mitzi Besas, Alexandria De Castro, Tyler Donohue, Kimberly Gant, Joshua Kearney, Nicole Lake, Maeve Mc Namara, Tom Reed, Chris Sannino, Greg Sheppard and Matthew Smith.
Show times are 7:30 pm each night, and a 2 p.m. Saturday matinee. Tickets cost $9 for adults, $6 for seniors and children.

Rio Grande Volunteer Rescue Squad will sponsor a Spaghetti Dinner on March 4 from 4-8 p.m. at the Green Creek Fire Company.
Dinner will include spaghetti and meatballs, rolls, dessert and soda. Price is $5 for adults, $3 for children and seniors.
