Middle’s Prom Postponed

MTHS

By Press Release

COURT HOUSE — Middle Township School District announced the postponement of Middle Township High School’s prom and after-prom activities that were scheduled for Friday, May 15.

In a Facebook post shared on the high school’s official page, Superintendent David Salvo said the district is postponing, not cancelling the prom, in hopes of holding it at a later date.

“The decision to postpone prom versus cancelling was made to give students something to look forward to,” Salvo said. “The district has been brainstorming ideas and creating alternative ways to save as many ceremonies and student recognitions as possible.”

Gov. Phil Murphy has ordered New Jersey schools to remain closed through at least May 15.

Middle Township High School is employing innovative ideas to keep students’ spirits high during the school’s closure.

The school celebrates its students with social media posts that include photos of MTHS families’ personalized Class of 2020 door decorations; heartfelt congratulations to seniors who have committed to colleges and universities for the fall term; recognition for Students of the Month; and birthday well wishes.

So while the schools’ reopening date might be uncertain, the district wants students to have no doubt about how much they are missed, loved, and supported.
