NORTH WILDWOOD – It has been four months since residents of Marina Bay Towers had their first hearing; they once again faced another postponed hearing. The hearing, scheduled for July 22 in Mays Landing, was cancelled due to an alleged lack of proper paperwork on the behalf of Paul Cocoziello.
Bonnie McNamara, in a telephone interview, alleged that Cocoziello, owner of the Towers, has not filed certain documents with lawyers or with the state Department of Community Affairs. DCA has not made its inspection.
In April, Sen. Jeff Van Drew (D-1st) said that he had made contact with DCA “to get the ball rolling,” on behalf of the residents at Marina Bay Towers.
“The state is behind us,” Barbara Waterman, a resident of the Towers, had said. “No one will be evicted – at least we are making progress.”
Both McNamara and Waterman, along with other residents, have expressed thanks and appreciation to the City of North Wildwood for its support in the case.
North Wildwood is also ensnared in litigation of its own due to unpaid taxes and fees owed to it. North Wildwood had sold the municipal tax certificate to Royal Tax Lean Services for $900,000. According to Mayor Patrick Rosenello, the Marina Bay Towers case is “complex.”
Residents, facing another postponement, rally together in hopes of a quick rescheduling.
