Man Rescued from Mud

WILDWOOD – At 2:55 p.m. March 15, members of the Wildwood Fire Department responded to the 500 block West Rio Grande Avenue for the report of a man stuck in the mud. 
Deputy Chief Ernie Troiano arrived on scene and confirmed that a worker was stuck in the mud about waist deep.
Squad Company 3, under the command of Capt. Matt Johnson, along with Rescue Company 3 arrived on scene. With the tide rapidly rising, firefighters donned dry-suits and entered the water.
Firefighters then secured the 52-year-old male victim with a rope and quickly began digging him out before pulling him to safety. The victim was then evaluated by EMS (emergency medical services) where no injuries were reported.
All Wildwood Fire Department units cleared the scene at 3:20 p.m.
