DEL HAVEN – Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor and Middle Township Police Chief Christopher Leusner announce the safe conclusion of a barricaded subject incident in Del Haven.
On March 16, at 11:18 a.m., Middle Township Patrol Officers responded to a residence in the 900 block Millman Boulevard to check the well-being of a male subject. Upon arrival, Andrew Walker, 30, of Del Haven, was refusing to come out of his residence. Officers from the Middle Township Police Department quickly evacuated neighborhood residents due to the fact Walker may have had access to firearms.
Members of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Cape May County SWAT Team, and Crisis Negotiation Team responded to assist along with Cape May County Fire Police and Middle Township EMS personnel.
After a short period of time, Walker exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident. Walker was then transported to Cape Regional Medical Center to be evaluated.
Taylor would like to thank all of the agencies involved who assisted with this incident and urges anyone who has information concerning this investigation to contact the Prosecutor’s Office at 609-465-1135, or the Middle Township Police Department at 609-465-8700 or text TIP MTPDTIPS followed by your message to 888777 or text through the Cape May County Sheriff’s Tip Line at cmcsheriff.net and click on the anonymous tip.
