Lynn Doyle makes the call in Ocean City

By Carolyn Miller

Winner of several Emmy, Telly, and Beacon awards, Lynn Doyle is the stand-out host for CN 8’s “It’s Your Call with Lynn Doyle.”
Doyle hails from Baltimore, Md. Her parents are native West Virginians. A graduate from Towson University, she started her journalism career working with her hometown newspaper.
Within seven years she had become editor-in-chief. Working her way up through local, regional, and national television, she has worked for CNBC, QVC, and FOX NEWS.
At CN 8’s “It’s Your Call with Lynn Doyle,” she is the host and executive producer, overseeing the show’s direction and content.
She has made her mark by securing hard-to-get interviews with guests from every section of life, tapping into the varied interests of the viewers.
The program’s multi-media approach facilitates audience interaction, keeping guests on their toes. Her easy style and magnetic smile translates to heavy audience participation.
You can get up close and personal with Lynn Doyle as she brings her Emmy winning production to the Ocean City boardwalk this summer.
Once a month from May to August, Doyle broadcasts a special series on issues important to teens and young 20-somethings.
“It’s Your Call,” ‘Breaks It Down’ series focuses on peer pressure, self esteem, emotional and physical relationships, and the power of the youth vote. The remote broadcast at the Ocean City venue partners CN 8 with South Jersey Magazine and radio station SoJo 104.9.
“Ocean City offers a perfect venue, great crowd, family values, hospitable town,” she said. “We did a show here once last year and it was so well received, we decided to do the whole series here.
“Ocean City exemplifies the philosophy of the series; it’s a wonderful venue.”
In September, when all eyes turn to the election, Doyle will host the network’s coverage of “America’s Next President,” talking with everyday people and asking about their preferred candidate. The show will track voter opinions and see if they are acted upon in the polling booth.
Doyle recently received additional acclaim for being selected as a finalist in More Magazine’s Over-40 Model Search that drew over 14,000 entrants nation-wide.
Doyle was invited to give a speech to a woman’s group celebrating International Women’s Month in March, 2007. The publisher of More Magazine was in the audience and suggested to her that she apply for the model search.
Doyle, 51, had launched a series of shows called “Fifty and Fabulous” focusing on the lives and lessons of women over 50.
As part of the search process, she had to write an essay on her philosophy of life at this age, and once selected as a finalist, she had to spend three days of intense scrutiny in New York City working with editors and designers.
It was all worth it; Doyle finished fourth.
“I’m keeping all my options open,” she said, addressing where she thought this new notoriety would take her.
“I’m not sure what it will bring, but it was a boost of confidence. I was the average person next door, who just happened to photograph well. It was a whole new experience.
“Never say never,” she continued. “You never know what opportunities are out there for you.”
Since the model campaign appeared in More Magazine, Doyle has done a spread in Bucks County Woman Magazine and an advertising campaign for a jeweler.
On a personal note, Doyle is the mother of two daughters and the grandmother of one-year-old twin boys. She resides in Pennsylvania with her husband, Michael Doyle.
Outside of CN 8, she is president and founder of LDTV, Inc., a production company that develops programming, advertising, and video communications for clients.
You can watch “It’s Your Call with Lynn Doyle” on CN 8, Monday through Friday, 9–10 p.m., and Sundays, 9–9:30 p.m.
Or be at the Ocean City boardwalk on July 17 or Aug. 14 to catch the show in person.
