Locals supply soccer equipment

By On Deck Staff

The Social Justice Committee of Our Lady of the Angels Church, Court House, along with Cape Express Soccer Club, donated over 1/2 a ton of used soccer equipment to the children of Cape May County Village, Bord du Mer, Haiti, last year.
This year the soccer club is hoping to raise the money necessary to supply soccer goals for the Village.
The organization seeks elementary school-aged pupils to submit their favorite works of art to be “voted” on in the show. Donations are needed for prizes and raffles.
Plans include a spaghetti dinner and soccer skills competition. The Soccer- Spaghetti event is Jan 25 from 4-7 p.m. at Martin Luther King Center in Whitesboro. The cost is $5 for dinner and $5 for soccer skills.
The art show will be held at St. Gabriel’s Hall at Our Lady of the Angel’s Church, on Jan 10 from 4:30 p.m.-7 p.m. and Jan 11 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Children should send their art work to the Main Library, Mechanic Street, Court House, between Jan. 4-8. Art submission forms and rules are on capemaycountyvillage.com.
