By On Deck Staff

Too hot to be working out in the garden? That’s the perfect time to tune into WCFA–LP radio show, “Playing in the Dirt: The Garden Show.” Certified master gardener Hope Gaines broadcasts alternate Thursdays from 2– 3 p.m. on the Center for Community Arts, Jazz and More radio station WCFA-LP 101.5 FM.
Each show features a local expert speaking on specific gardening topics.
Future shows will include Lorraine Kiefer of Triple Oaks Herb Gardens speaking on Cooking with Herbs, a show featuring Tomatoes and Other Summer Edibles, Tips on Dealing with Garden Variety Aches and Pains, and greenhouses.
The show also includes personal gardening stories and an eclectic blend of music related to the show’s theme. The program concludes with “Hope’s Garden Tips of the Day.”
Hope Gaines is a certified master gardener and has earned certification from Longwood Gardens. She is the gardener at the Emlen Physick Estate and the Wetlands Institute, as well as a partner in a small gardening business.
To volunteer at WCFA-LP call The Center for Community Arts at 609-884-7525.
