AVALON – U.S. District Judge Renee Bumb ruled that a restaurant in Avalon can’t be held responsible for serving a woman raw shellfish that caused her to develop a flesh-eating bacteria that led doctors to amputate her leg, NJ.com reports.
Bumb, in the summary judgement in favor of the restaurant on April 7, ruled that there was no evidence that handling of the raw clams by the restaurant led to the infection and the bacteria could have been present when the clams were delivered to the business, the report continued.
