The second annual Sea Isle City Irish Weekend is set for Friday and Saturday, Sept. 19-20.
The 2008 Irish Weekend, which is co-sponsored by La Costa Lounge and Kix-McNutley’s, will once again take place at the La Costa Complex, JFK Boulevard and Landis Avenue. The festival will feature over 50 vendors selling crafts and Irish collectibles. There will also be Irish food for sale, Irish dancers, bag-pipe bands and plenty of other live music.
The festivities will begin on Friday with The Gallagher Brothers playing Irish tunes beginning at 4 p.m. There will also be two other bands performing that night, Round Tower and West Galway.
On Saturday, an Irish Market takes place from noon to 9 p.m. During that time, there will also be great food for sale, Irish dancers entertaining the crowds, and bagpipe bands filling the air with wonderful Irish melodies.
Cletus McBride will begin playing Irish music at 1 p.m. on Saturday, and he will be followed by repeat performances by The Gallagher Brothers, West of Galway and Round Tower.
