COURT HOUSE — Hundreds of kids with adults in tow made their way to the Cape May County Park the morning of Sat., March 31 to meet the Easter Bunny and hunt for Easter eggs. It might have been a damp and cool day, but that didn’t stop the fun.
With thousands of eggs laid out on fields of grass, children were divided by age groups for the eggtravaganza. Children ranging from infants to 12-year-olds scampered across the grass popping pastel eggs into their baskets. Within minutes it was over and the only thing left to do was to crack open the eggs to enjoy a chocolate or jelly bean breakfast.
The free event, sponsored by County Freeholders, included educational displays, crafts and live animal encounters.
“This year, the county is using Eco Easter eggs, made from corn instead of plastic eggs,” said Freeholder Vice-Director M. Susan Sheppard. “I’m very pleased with this environment-friendly change.”
