WEEKSTOWN- The South Jersey All Breeds Horse Rescue in Weekstown is asking for the public’s assistance. The horse rescue is facing foreclosure and is asking for donations or financial backers to step in and save the property.
Founder and Executive Director, Ellen Strack formed the organization in 2009. They have rehomed 45 horses since their creation, including three of the four neglected horses from a property in Lower Township, which the Herald reported two years ago in 2011. Strack and her staff nursed the horses back to health and adopted three of them out to good homes. One of them could not be put up for adoption because of a severe back injury.
The property where the horse rescue sits has 31 acres of land and is pinelands protected. There are several Pine Creek on the property which are estimated to be about 600 to 800 years old. The property is located at 5745 Pleasant Mills Road, Weekstown.
Any help that the public could offer would be appreciated.
Contact Ellen Strack at (609) 965-0274 or email southjerseyhorserescue@comcast.net. To learn more about the organization and how to get involved, visit their website at www.southjerseyhorserescue.org.
